This blog is now read by more machines than humans: RSS robots, spam-laying insectopoids, echoes of blog-gathering .edu projects. This essentially is the state of affairs that all human activities w

John Pilger: Partner in Terrorism

In an outrageous piece of terrorist propaganda appearing on the cover of today's New Statesman, John Pilger puts the blame for the 7/7 London attacks not on the terrorists, but rather on Tony Blair:

Out of the Past

Former President Bill Clinton hit the trite campaign trail today. Never mind the reference in the third person, this is him speaking:

One of Clinton's laws of politics is this: if one candidate's trying to scare you, and the other one's trying to get you to think; if one candidate's appealing to your fears, and the other one's appealing to your hopes, you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope.

We had eight years of this schtick folks. It sounds pretty tired today (and not just because Clinton sounded weak after his surgery). It seems like political talk from another age: the fabled interregnum between the wars. The pause that refreshes. Like the kind of crap politicians used to say in the 30's. With hindsight, we could see that it was just so much dreamland babble.

Does Kerry or his team think that these anachronisms will help? I'd guess that it will set Kerry back. It's almost like having Neville Chamberlain campaigning for him.

On another tack, with all of the Democratic/MSM fear-mongering going on regarding the draft, and the usual geriatric haunted house of Social Security bit, the Dems can't accuse anyone of appealing to fears. If a candidate is going to appeal to fear, I insist that it be a realistic fear.
