In an outrageous piece of terrorist propaganda appearing on the cover of today's New Statesman, John Pilger puts the blame for the 7/7 London attacks not on the terrorists, but rather on Tony Blair:

Protest with Benefits

From The Independent:

Italian anti-globalisation activists helped themselves to a gourmet meal, leaving nothing but a thank you note telling the restaurant owner he was the victim of "collateral damage" in their fight against war and poverty.

The activists struck as Italy's mainstream unions staged a nationwide strike against Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's economic policies on Tuesday.

Pretending to be celebrating a baptism, about 40 people ate their way through food worth 2,000 euros (£1,400) [$2600] finishing off with five bottles of Moet et Chandon champagne at Da Celeste, a family restaurant near Venice, the Ansa news agency said.

"Many have talked about the quality of your food, but we must tell you it passed all expectations," said the letter from the group.

The restaurant was chosen because it had hosted delegates at a Nato conference last month. "Consider this 'collateral damage', as [President George] Bush would say as children die in bombing raids," the letter said.

I hope the leaders of this incident of theft disguised as activism get beaten about the head and shoulders with big police batons. That aside, the wonder is the fact that they stole food and services for themselves from a family-run business and yet are convinced that they were acting for some larger cause. They're not the beneficiaries of the theft- the world is.

Where's their next big protest- at a Lexus dealership?

George Bush as villian is even invoked. Apparently if you hate George Bush, it's alright to do anything you want and blame him. "We stole some cars. It's all Bush's fault, it is." Right, we'll arrest him then.
