Move On

Tim Blair has moved to new digs and is getting right down to business with the Michael Moore personality. "The days of trying to move the Democratic Party to the right are over," says Moore. As I wrote in comments somewhere, the Democrats succeeded when they ran a moderate candidate in 1992 and 1996. Their lurch to the left is what cost them in 2000 and 2004. It didn't help in 1984 or 1988 either.

What's happening is that the left half of the party is trying to drown out the obvious lesson that the Dems should have learned during the last 20 years. They can win when they run from the center. In this battle for control of the Democratic Party, the left will be shrill and obnoxious in inverse proportion to the validity of their arguments.
