John Pilger: Partner in Terrorism
In an outrageous piece of terrorist propaganda appearing on the cover of today's New Statesman, John Pilger puts the blame for the 7/7 London attacks not on the terrorists, but rather on Tony Blair:
Meanwhile, In Havana
In non-Iraq news, there was a protest in Cuba today against the new US sanctions. Reuters has an even-handed take on the matter.
Oh, wait. I don't mean "even-handed". I meant to say that the Reuters story is the most blantantly one-sided piece of commie propaganda disguised as a news story to come down the pike in a long time. Well it is Reuters.
The piece quotes Castro extensively, and quotes some of the anti-American slogans that Castro's hostages- I mean Cuban citizens- had written on their protest signs. Yes, Abu Ghraib makes an appearance. Surprise! There's no one quoted from the US or supporting the US position. The US policy is described as "pandering to Cuban voters in Florida".
This part is cute:
The government declared a holiday and brought Cubans into Havana in buses and trucks overnight from the countryside. Students were gathered at Havana University on Thursday night in preparation for the march.
That's all it says regarding exactly how mandatory the government protest was. Not "students gathered," but "students were gathered." Gotta read between those Reuters lines! Also, the word "dictator" does not appear anywhere in the article. I liked this too:
Castro's younger brother and designated political successor, Raul Castro, marched in uniform at the head of Cuban army generals and officers.
And that's all they have to say about that.
