Today was Dan Rather's big day. I didn't watch. I can't stand watching him. During his big marathon of denial back in September I didn't even tune in to to see what he'd say next.
"Courage." Oy.
This Reuters headline caught my eye though: "Dan Rather Urges Courage Amid Tributes, Sniping". Sniping, eh?
snipe: to attack a person or a person's work with petulant or snide criticism, esp. anonymously or from a safe distance.
So Claudia Parsons of Reuters uses a neutral word to describe the "tributes" Rather's getting and a negative word to describe the criticism. Well it is Reuters. I guess in this case you can add bias towards their own profession to their usual lefty slant.
